Embarking on a journey beyond the familiar streets of Footscray, I dared to challenge the confines of my comfort zone, a decision that led me on an unexpected voyage. The evening began with the promise of camaraderie, as I navigated the bustling streets, my trust placed in the competing voices of my cars satellite navigation System and Google Maps. Despite the discordant guidance, I reached my destination, welcomed by the warmth of friendship and laughter.

As the evening sky melted into darkness, I embarked on a journey that would unwittingly lead me through a labyrinth of self-discovery and fear. The familiar streets soon gave way to the tangled veins of Melbourne’s highways, where I found myself adrift in a sea of uncertainty. My trusted companion, the cars satellite navigation System, had become a discordant guide,

In the heart of the night, the world outside mirrored the chaos of my thoughts. Each turn took me further into the unknown, and with each mile, my heart grew heavier, a symphony of fear playing its relentless rhythm. The darkness was not just around me; it seeped into my very soul, tapping into a primal fear I had long buried – the dread of being utterly lost.

Alone with my thoughts, the journey became more than a physical traversal; it was a descent into the depths of my anxieties. Questions and regrets danced in my mind like shadows, taunting me. “Why did I venture out so late? Why did I place blind faith in technology?” The night’s oppressive silence only magnified the cacophony of my inner dialogue, turning each doubt into a deafening echo.

The darkness outside was punctuated by the sporadic glow of streetlights, each one a fleeting beacon of hope that perhaps I might find my way. Yet, with every wrong turn, hope flickered and waned. The sensation of being lost transcended the physical realm, touching a raw nerve within me. It was a stark reminder of times I’d felt directionless in life, moments when decisions led to unforeseen and daunting paths.

As the fuel gauge neared emptiness, so too did my reservoir of courage. The night’s chill crept through the seams of my car, a cold reminder of my vulnerability. I was not just lost on the road; I was lost in the expanse of my fears, confronting the daunting truth that sometimes we are our own greatest unknown.

Then, in the depths of despair, a spark of resilience flickered. Dare To Be You – the mantra I champion but had momentarily forgotten, whispered to me through the fear. It was a call to trust not just in technology or the well-lit paths but in the innate compass we all possess. With trembling hands and a determined heart, I turned to Google Maps once more, not as a crutch, but as a tool to complement my intuition.

The journey home was arduous, a test of endurance against the shadows of doubt and fear. But with each mile conquered, I rediscovered a piece of myself, a strength forged in the crucible of vulnerability. By facing the embodiment of my fears, I learned that being lost is not just a state of place but a moment of transformation.

This ordeal, a night that tested every fiber of my being, became a profound lesson in courage, trust, and the power of self-belief. It was a reminder that to Dare To Be You is to embrace not just the paths we tread confidently but also the unforeseen journeys that lead us to discover our truest selves. In the dance with darkness, I found light – the light of understanding, strength, and an unwavering resolve to never let fear dictate the course of my journey.

As I stepped into the sanctuary of my home, a wave of relief washed over me. The familiar walls seemed to embrace me, their silent strength a stark contrast to the night’s chaos. I collapsed, overwhelmed yet triumphant, my tears a testament to the ordeal and the resilience it unearthed.

This journey, though fraught with fear, was a profound lesson in self-discovery. It taught me the power of trusting my instincts, facing my fears, and the importance of venturing beyond the known. Home at last, I realized that the true journey was about returning to myself, embracing the essence of Dare To Be You.

In the quiet before dawn, there’s a space where introspection breeds transformation. Here, within the solitude of thought, a question arises—a whisper, really, urging you to Dare To Be You. It’s in this sacred space where the journey unfolds, a journey of shedding layers imposed by those who’ve dimmed our light rather than fueling our flames.

Imagine a friendship that, on the surface, seemed rooted in mutual interests and shared endeavors. This friend, a seasoned sports photographer, once a beacon of collaborative spirit, gradually becomes a mirror reflecting back the parts of us we’ve long neglected—the boundaries we’ve allowed to be crossed, the respect we’ve forgone in the name of loyalty.

Recall the sting of betrayal, not from an enemy but someone you once called a friend. Visualize the moment of disbelief when personal boundaries were crossed, not once but repeatedly, under the guise of accidental oversteps. These weren’t mere missteps; they were revelations, each unwelcome photo a wake-up call, a reminder of the respect you deserve but weren’t given.

The emotional turmoil isn’t just about the disrespect encapsulated in those moments but also about the audacity of being lectured on professionalism by someone who’s lost touch with what it means to respect and be respected in any realm—personal or professional.

Deciding to sever ties isn’t merely about distancing yourself from negativity; it’s a profound act of self-love. It’s recognizing that your peace, your respect, and your path to becoming outstanding and unstoppable are infinitely more valuable than the presence of someone who only knows how to take without giving.

This narrative isn’t just about ending a toxic friendship; it’s about the emotional rebirth that follows. It’s about the tears that cleanse, the anger that fuels change, and the profound loneliness that accompanies the decision to stand up for oneself. Yet, within this tumult lies the seed of your true power—the realization that being “too nice” is not a flaw but a testament to your capacity for love, understanding, and compassion.

To every woman reading this, know that your journey towards self-discovery and empowerment is paved with choices—choices about who you let into your life and who you kindly let go. It’s in these choices that you find your voice, your strength, and your true self.

So, Dare To Be You. Dare to walk away from those who no longer respect you. Dare to fill your life with people who see you, who honor you, and who love you for everything you are. And in doing so, you will not only find yourself but also become a beacon of light for others navigating their own journey out of the shadows.

Dare to be you, because you are your own greatest masterpiece.

Introduction

As the fireworks light up the sky, heralding the arrival of another year, we are reminded of the infinite possibilities that lie ahead. For many women, particularly those between the ages of 30 and 55, the New Year is not just a change of date. It represents a profound opportunity for introspection, growth, and a recommitment to their authentic selves. This article explores the transformative power of New Year’s resolutions, particularly for women who often find themselves juggling personal aspirations with professional commitments and societal expectations.

The Power of New Year’s Resolutions

Resolutions are more than just annual traditions; they are a powerful vehicle for change and self-improvement. When aligned with your true self, these resolutions have the potential to significantly alter the course of your life. They are not just about losing weight or saving money; they are about rediscovering who you are and what you truly desire in life.

The Plight of ‘Too Nice’ Women

Many women fall into the trap of being ‘too nice,’ often at the expense of their own needs and dreams. This pattern, deeply rooted in societal expectations, leads to a life where personal aspirations are constantly sidelined. However, the New Year presents a unique opportunity to redefine these boundaries and prioritize personal fulfillment.

Crafting Authentic Resolutions

To create resolutions that truly resonate, start by reflecting on what makes you happy and fulfilled. Set goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). But most importantly, ensure they reflect your deepest values and aspirations.

Building and Nurturing Relationships

Central to a fulfilling life are the relationships we nurture – starting with the one we have with ourselves. This year, let your resolutions mirror a deep commitment to self-love. From this foundation of self-respect and understanding, you can build stronger, more meaningful relationships with others.

Professional Growth and Personal Fulfillment

Striking a balance between professional aspirations and personal well-being is a common challenge. Yet, it’s possible to align career goals with personal values to achieve a harmonious and fulfilling life. Whether it’s seeking professional advancement or pursuing a passion project, let your resolutions reflect both your career ambitions and your personal growth.

Overcoming Challenges

Staying committed to your resolutions can be challenging, but remember, every obstacle is an opportunity for growth. Develop a support system, be it friends, family, or a professional network, and remember to be kind to yourself during setbacks.

Celebrating Progress

Recognizing and celebrating each achievement, no matter how small, is crucial. These victories, whether it’s sticking to a new habit for a week or reaching a small milestone at work, are pivotal in maintaining motivation and reminding yourself of your capability and strength.

Conclusion

As we embark on this New Year, let it be a canvas for painting your unique journey. Embrace each day as an opportunity to inch closer to your authentic self, one resolution at a time. Remember, the path to self-discovery and fulfillment is ongoing and ever-evolving. Here’s to a year of growth, self-love, and unapologetic pursuit of your dreams!

Quotes about having new years’ resolutions by famous people

On the Importance of Authentic Resolutions:

Dr. Brené Brown, Researcher and Author: “Authenticity is not something we have or don’t have. It’s a practice—a conscious choice of how we want to live. Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.On Overcoming ‘Too Nice’ Syndrome:

Dr. Susan Newman, Social Psychologist and Author: “Being overly nice can be a result of deep-rooted fear of rejection or a desire for approval. It’s crucial for women to recognize their own worth and set boundaries. This doesn’t make you less nice; it makes you self-respecting.”

On Setting SMART Goals:

Peter Drucker, Management Consultant and Author: “Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results, not attributes. The practice of management rests on the foundation of effective goal-setting, which is SMART – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.”

On Building and Maintaining Relationships:

Esther Perel, Psychotherapist and Author: “The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. We are wired for connection. But it starts with the relationship we have with ourselves. When we understand and respect ourselves, we can build more meaningful and authentic connections with others.”

On Balancing Personal and Professional Life:

Arianna Huffington, Author and Businesswoman: “We need to accept that we won’t always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes – understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success. Balancing personal well-being with professional ambition is not just possible, but essential for sustained success.”

On Embracing Challenges and Setbacks:

Angela Duckworth, Psychologist and Author: “Grit is living life like it’s a marathon, not a sprint. It’s about taking on the challenges, not for the sake of the challenge itself, but for what lies beyond it. The path to our goals is not always straight, but it’s the perseverance through the twists and turns that defines our success.”

On Celebrating Personal Achievements:

Oprah Winfrey, Media Executive and Philanthropist: “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. Every small victory is a step toward a happier, more fulfilling life. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and use them as fuel to pursue your dreams.”

In 2007, I faced a reality I never expected. Despite leading a healthy lifestyle, I discovered that cancer doesn’t discriminate. It was a rude awakening when a routine pap smear, which I had been avoiding, revealed CIN1 – a precancerous condition. I had been under the false impression that my health and lifestyle shielded me from such risks.

The subsequent years were a blur of denial and avoidance. I skipped the recommended annual pap smears, convincing myself that everything was fine. However, by 2010, my situation had progressed to CIN2, a more severe precancerous state. The realization hit me during a Contiki tour; amidst the travels, my mind was plagued with ‘what ifs.’

Returning home, I faced the news that my condition had evolved to CIN3, a critical stage where cells may become cancerous. The word ‘cancerous’ echoed in my mind as I grappled with the reality of needing surgery. The experience was overwhelming, magnified by a turbulent personal life and an unsupportive partner.

The day of my surgery was a turning point. Alone and abandoned by my partner, I realized the importance of self-care and self-prioritization. Post-surgery, I endured further challenges. In a desperate attempt to reclaim my space, I moved heavy furniture, which resulted in torn stitches and an infection. This experience taught me the hard way the importance of following medical advice and allowing my body to heal.

This journey was more than a health scare; it was a wake-up call to the importance of regular health check-ups, listening to medical advice, and prioritizing self-care. I learned that no matter how busy life gets, health must never take a backseat.

My message to all women is clear: prioritize your health, attend regular screenings, and listen to your body. Don’t wait for a crisis to start taking care of yourself. As I share in my book ‘Dare To Be You: Break Free from the Shackles of the Past to Become Yourself, Outstanding, and Unstoppable,’ it’s crucial to listen to both your body and your intuition. Your health is your wealth, and it’s never too late to start caring for it.

For many years, I’ve lived a life fueled by ambition and discipline, climbing the corporate ladder with relentless determination. My career and personal development were my identity, driving me into cycles of burnout characterized by emotional and physical exhaustion. This journey led me to confront my deepest fears, particularly around financial stability, resulting in severe anxiety that often left me paralyzed.

My independence and lack of a safety net meant that job transitions were more than career moves; they were existential challenges. The pressure of maintaining financial security often triggered my anxiety, especially during times of unemployment. Society’s emphasis on one’s profession, especially noticeable in the dating scene, only amplified my fears and self-doubt.

As a woman constantly striving for professional excellence, I faced the hard truth: my self-worth was intricately tied to my job and financial status. This realization prompted me to delve deep into understanding and overcoming my anxiety. Through self-reflection and meditation, I traced my anxiety back to its roots, transforming my emotional response to financial uncertainty.

My action plan for navigating career transitions became a lifeline:

  1. Prioritize financial planning, including paying rent and utilities in advance.
  2. Proactively update my CV and engage with job agencies regularly.
  3. Commit to personal and professional development for enhanced employability.
  4. Actively apply for jobs and leverage professional networks for opportunities.
  5. Maintain physical well-being through regular exercise.
  6. Budget meticulously to manage finances effectively.

Transforming my approach to job interviews was another crucial step. I shifted my mindset, viewing interviews as mutual explorations rather than one-sided assessments. Preparing thoroughly and embracing each interview as a learning opportunity helped me overcome my nervousness.

The journey to recognizing my worth beyond my career was fraught with challenges, including financial losses in MLMs and crypto scams, but it taught me invaluable lessons. It reinforced the importance of holistic self-care and the need to occasionally pause and appreciate life’s beauty.

Through this process, I secured rewarding jobs where my skills were valued and my well-being supported. I learned that an interview is as much about understanding the potential employer as it is about showcasing my capabilities.

This blog post is more than a career narrative; it’s a testament to the power of self-awareness and the importance of mental and emotional well-being in professional success. It’s a reminder that our worth isn’t defined by our job titles or bank balances, but by our resilience, our ability to adapt, and our commitment to personal growth.

As women, we often face unique challenges in balancing career aspirations with personal well-being. My journey underscores the importance of understanding and nurturing all aspects of ourselves. It’s a call to embrace self-empowerment, to redefine success on our own terms, and to courageously pursue a life that fulfills us both professionally and personally. ©

Goodbye to 2021 and hello 2022

As we see this year out and the beginning of 2022 in it is important to reflect on the following things:

  • The journey we traveled in our to get us to where we are now
  • The journey we have yet to travel
  • What the new chapters in our lives we want to create either personally, professionally with experiences, health, mindset, feelings etc…
  • Who we are now
  • Who we became in the year
  • Who we want to be in the new year
  • What we accomplished
  • What we overcame
  • What relationships in our lives ended either through death, toxicity, a falling out or simply growing apart
  • What new relationships we started with others, friendships, relationships, groups, communities, businesses, professional
  • What old relationships got stronger due to supporting, caring, encouraging, acknowledging, and loving each other
  • What old values fell by the way side
  • What new values we now have for ourselves and our lives
  • What we want to achieve for the new year
  • What we want the new year to look like for us
  • How we are going to get there.

⁣ We have all had it tough the last couple of years, but we mustn’t give up.⁣

We must continue to love, support, inspire and move each other forwards in a positive way.⁣

All though we have all at one point over the past few years felt alone but we have never truly been alone as we have all been going through the same types of things in the universal collective.⁣

We will never be alone; miracles do happen, and good times are coming.⁣

What the last couple of years should have taught us is that we are strong, resilient, brave, and courageous, that we can get through just about anything as long as we have hope and belief in the future and what to come.⁣

Nothing is 100% guaranteed or predictable in life and that is what makes life exciting and work living.⁣

Stand tall and strong for the person you are now because you are remarkable and have proven that you can get through anything and everything that life has thrown at you.⁣

Never be afraid to ask for help and or reach out to someone else when you are going through tough times as it is through the kindness of strangers that that we find hope, faith, courage, support and above all strength. ⁣

Believe in yourselves as I believe in you. We very rarely see our own potential and what we are really capable of to be great in life and it is through others that we get to know we are far more capable and have far more potential than what we through we did.⁣

2022 has so many new options, possibilities, roads to travel down and decisions to make that will dramatically change who we are, and our futures so concentrate on the positives, your hopes, your dreams, your goals and really create somethings special for yourselves in the new year.

Have an amazing 2022 everyone!

In a world that’s ever-changing, personal growth isn’t just a benefit; it’s a necessity. Imagine standing at life’s crossroads, shrouded in darkness, feeling lost and adrift. That was where my journey began — in a place devoid of light, grappling with the aftermath of experiences that seemed to define my existence.

Like many, my youth was shadowed by challenges. At 22, the trauma of an assault left me fractured. I was adrift in a sea of despair, my path obscured by the remnants of a childhood marred by exclusion and the harsh aftermath of a dissolved long-term relationship. My world was a fortress of solitude, encircled by walls built from fear and bitterness.

It was in this labyrinth of shadows that I discovered a beacon: the world of personal development. This revelation wasn’t just about finding myself; it was about creating myself. No longer did I see reading as a chore clouded by past judgments, but as a gateway to enlightenment and transformation. A neighbor, once a stranger kept at a distance by my aura of desolation, became a cherished friend who witnessed the metamorphosis from the woman consumed by darkness to one radiating light.

My ascent from the depths of depression wasn’t immediate; it was a pilgrimage marked by resilience and the construction of a holistic support system. This framework wasn’t just a remedy; it was a revolution — a series of rituals and realizations that carried me beyond the grasp of depression and anxiety, which had been relentless companions for years.

Now, reflecting on the journey, it’s clear how far I’ve ventured. The murky haze of fear has lifted, replaced by a clarity and courage that propels me forward. The once overpowering specter of anxiety has diminished, managed by newfound strength and strategies. My friends marvel at the transformation, celebrating the resilient spirit that has replaced the withdrawn soul they once knew.

This tale isn’t unique to me. It’s a narrative shared by countless women who, too nice for their own good, have lost themselves in the cacophony of life. But there’s hope, a promise of renewal and the power to reshape your narrative. It’s a path that ‘Dare To Be You’ illuminates — a journey not just of recovery but of rediscovery.

For those yearning to break free from the chains of the past and embrace a future of possibilities, ‘Dare To Be You’ offers a sanctuary. It’s where your transformation from being just a survivor to a thriver begins. It’s where your potential isn’t just acknowledged; it’s celebrated and cultivated.

Are you ready to reclaim your narrative and rewrite your destiny? Visit Dare To Be You to discover how you can start your transformative journey today. Dare to embrace life, dare to shine, dare to be unequivocally you. ©

Finding Freedom: The Journey to Self-Love and Authentic Relationships

In my quest for acceptance and love, I found myself entangled in the exhausting cycle of people-pleasing. It was a draining path, walking on eggshells, prioritizing others’ needs, and constantly feeling I wasn’t good enough. I was trapped in a loop of disappointment and unfulfillment, yearning for love, acceptance, and a sense of belonging.

This path led to profound sadness and exhaustion. I was lost in a world where my true self was overshadowed by the overwhelming desire to conform and please. I craved to just be me, free from the chains of others’ expectations and judgments.

In this labyrinth of pleasing others, I felt perpetually misunderstood, taken for granted, and emotionally depleted. The burden of living up to everyone else’s standards weighed heavily on me, pushing my own needs and desires into the shadows.

The turning point came when I realized the true cost of this way of living. I discovered that the journey to authentic relationships and genuine self-love began with embracing my own identity – daring to be myself.

This realization birthed the Unstoppable Relationships Program, a transformative process designed for those ready to break free from the shackles of people-pleasing. Embracing the Dance of Life: A Symphony of Gratitude and Self-Love

In the quietude of lockdown, I find myself journeying back to childhood, a time when life was an uncharted symphony of possibilities. From my first tear to the triumphant moment I took my first steps, these memories sing a song of innocence, a melody of unbridled joy and determination. Reflect on these early chapters of your life, when each new day was an opportunity for growth and exploration.

Do you recall the thrill of your first crawl, the anticipation of walking on two feet like those around you? This wasn’t just movement; it was a declaration of independence, a dance of resilience. You, too, experienced this – your tiny hands and knees paving the path to discovery. Imagine the laughter and joy that bubbled within you with each new step, each tumble just a part of the rhythm of learning.

Your first steps were not just motions; they were milestones of pride and self-accomplishment. Remember how running felt even more exhilarating, as you already mastered the art of balance and strength? These are not mere memories; they are the roots of who you are – a woman of strength, resilience, and unstoppable determination.

Recall the first time a sound truly touched your soul. Perhaps it was a bird’s melody or a loved one’s voice. This was the beginning of your journey to find your voice. Speaking, then singing, you embraced each note without fear of judgment. Your voice, initially a whisper, grew into a bold melody, resonating with the rhythm of your true self.

Yet, as we navigate the complexities of adulthood, our lens often shifts. The vibrant world of our childhood fades into a backdrop shadowed by doubt, fear, and societal expectations. The daring explorer within us becomes cautious, often silenced by the harsh judgments of the world. The dance of life becomes restrained, our steps measured and hesitant.

But what if we could rekindle that spark of gratitude and wonder? What if we could see the world through the lens of our younger selves, where every challenge is an opportunity, every fall a step closer to our goals?

Gratitude is our compass in this journey back to ourselves. When we embrace gratitude, we open our hearts to self-love, and with self-love comes the courage to be authentically us. In these trying times, let us find solace in gratitude. Let’s celebrate our journey, the small victories, and the monumental leaps.

Practicing gratitude is not just an act of reflection; it’s a declaration of our strength and potential. It’s an invitation to step out of our comfort zones and embrace the world in all its vibrancy. As we embark on this journey of gratitude, we pave the way to a life filled with joy, courage, and an unshakeable love for ourselves and those around us.

Dare to be you, dare to embrace every facet of your journey. Let’s join hands and hearts in this dance of life, where every step is a step towards a more fulfilling, more joyful, and more empowering tomorrow.©

From the Depths of Fear to the Pinnacle of Strength

At 22, I faced a harrowing ordeal that reshaped my outlook on life. While preparing for a joyous weekend, I fell victim to a traumatic experience that tested my very being. I was abducted and assaulted, a memory that haunted me for years.

The Struggle and Resilience

In the aftermath, I grappled with fear, nightmares, and the crushing weight of betrayal by those I trusted most. My relationship crumbled, leaving me alone in the face of legal battles over property and personal betrayal. Yet, through these trials, I discovered an inner resilience I never knew I had.

Rising Above the Darkness

I refused to be defined by my trauma. Instead, I channeled my energy into self-defense, empowering myself and other women in my workplace. This marked the beginning of my transformation – from a victim of circumstance to a warrior of my destiny.

Facing Fears with Courage

I tackled my fears head-on, embracing activities that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. Skydiving, photoshoots, and thrilling car rides became symbols of my newfound bravery. Each challenge I faced became a stepping stone towards rebuilding my strength and self-belief.

Empowerment through Personal Growth

Through therapy and a holistic support system, I gradually overcame depression and PTSD. My journey led me to become a successful senior project manager, where my experiences with anxiety transformed into a strength, aiding me in meticulous planning and risk management.

A Message of Hope and Empowerment

At ‘Dare To Be You’, we recognize that fear can be a catalyst for incredible growth. My story is a testament to the power of facing our fears and using them as fuel for transformation. We encourage you to view your fears as opportunities to grow stronger and more resilient.
