[The contradictions of others]
[Saying you are sharing your truth behind a locked down social media profile]
For far too long now I have been friends with people on social media who say they have been hiding and holding themselves back from sharing their truth because of haters, fear of being judged, fear of not being perfect or enough and fear of not being liked. Then they say they will no longer be hiding and will share their truth with the world. When they do share pieces of there lives with people they are still hiding as they do it in a safe secure locked down social media profile where only a select few people that they know can see their posts and that is a contradiction in itself as they are not really coming out and sharing their truth with the world and therefore still holding themselves back.
How do I know that they are still holding themselves back? I did the same thing for a few weeks when I first started as a coach 3 years ago. I thought that I could sell my goods and services while staying in my comfort zone never having to put up with the discomfort of conflict and disagreement with others because they disagree with or don’t like one of my posts. So, I too was too chicken to share with the world my memories and experiences due to fear.
It wasn’t until I stepped outside that comfort zone of hiding behind a locked down profile on social media that I really started to grow my audience and get truly remarkable feedback from my target audience and others who had experienced the same things in life that I did.
It wasn’t until I stepped outside that comfort zone of hiding behind a locked down profile on social media that I started to realise that I was not alone when it came to the things that I had been through and my experiences.
It wasn’t until I stepped outside that comfort zone of hiding behind a locked down profile on social media that I started to heal, change and grow, that I really started to feel hole and not broken anymore.
It wasn’t until I stepped outside that comfort zone of hiding behind a locked down profile on social media that I started to really feel strong, confident, secure, and enough in myself, in life and in standing in my truth.
It wasn’t until I stepped outside that comfort zone of hiding behind a locked down profile that I started to become an inspiration to others worldwide and to make a difference in the lives of everyone who reads my posts, watches my videos and reads my articles and blogs on my life.
YES, I HAD HATERS – and I continue to get them now. In fact, I had one on my Facebook business page 3 days ago defame and use slanderous words on a negative review even though I and my business “Dare To Be You®” have never had any dealings with her before and sure as hell did not put anything up about her on social media. YES, that got me down a little, but did I let that stop me from openly sharing with the world my past experiences and my truth and being an inspiration to other no. Instead, I reported her review to the social media platform administrators and invited them to take a look around my business page and my profile to see whether her accusations were true. Lo and behold 5 hours latter the social media platform in question removed her review from my page.
You see standing in your truth really does set you free if you are daring enough to publicly stand up for yourself whilst being professional about it. When I first opened my profile up to the world and really expressed myself my very first HATER was a very long, deer and close friend of mine and that really hurt. I had to after 12 years of friendship with her block her from my profile and ban her from my business pages as she was posting so much hate speaks all over my profile and page about me that I had to let her go. What I noticed after letting her go was that I felt more resilient and freer for doing so as it made me realise that I cared too much and put too much value on what she and other people thought of me and that was one of the biggest things that held me back from truly daring to be myself, speaking and standing in my truth.
Now each and every day I speak and stand in my truth and won’t let the fear of having haters hold me back. Believe it or not It does get easier to do so find your conviction and courage and face those fears. Once you do you to will find that the more haters you get the stronger and certain in yourself that you will become. To the point where the words of a HATER may sting for a few minutes, but they won’t keep you down and you will eventually become desensitized to them as they do not matter.
What matters most is what you think and feel about yourself and helping those people who really need what you have to offer to them. Those that really need what you are offering will never find you if you are hiding behind your comfort zone in a locked down social media profile. Your audience is out there in the world and not within a locked down social media profile.
I will say this again it is a contradiction for trained healthcare professionals (Councillors, psychologist, psychiatrists, and coaches) to say they are no longer hiding and are going to share their truth with world if they are only sharing it behind a locked down social media profile because they are still hiding from the rest of the world!
If nothing changes, nothing changes!
Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Get out of your head space as that is where the fear lies within you!©
