This sentiment persisted until my mid-twenties, when a work assignment in a remote mine site unexpectedly became the catalyst for my love affair with books.<\/p>\n<p>The turning point was a gift from a thoughtful physician \u2013 \u201cThe Feeling Good Handbook.\u201d In lieu of antidepressants, following a harrowing ordeal in Queensland, this book offered a different kind of healing. It introduced me to the transformative world of acceptance therapy and cognitive therapy, brimming with practical exercises to reshape one&#8217;s outlook on life. The delay in embracing this book&#8217;s wisdom \u2013 eight long years \u2013 led me down a path of medication, leaving me to ponder the what-ifs of an earlier encounter with its life-altering lessons.<\/p>\n<p>My journey through the power of words ignited a newfound ability to dream. Admittedly, visualising has never been my forte unless guided. Yet, through guided meditations, I discovered the profound impact of feeling the emotions intertwined with spoken words. This revelation altered my perception of myself and my surroundings, leading to a profound personal transformation.<\/p>\n<p>In my role as a coach, nothing compares to the joy of guiding others through visualisations. Witnessing the transformation in their posture, voice, and facial expressions as they connect with deep-seated emotions is truly inspiring.
