Raised in a strictly religious family, I was the shy girl who yearned for acceptance. Surrounded by a community where I felt like an outcast, the weight of constant judgment from peers and adults alike was a heavy cloak I wore.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, one beacon of joy shone bright \u2013 my love for singing, dancing, and acting. In the world of music and performance, I discovered a land where judgment faded, and I could be anyone I wished to be.<\/p>\n<p>Fueled by stories of my father&#8217;s singing days, I clung to my dream. With each note I practiced, I inched closer to breaking free from the chains of perfectionism. The day I finally gathered the courage to sing at my church, my heart raced, and my stomach churned with nerves. Yes, I missed a verse, and the audience&#8217;s reaction was a storm I had to endure. The laughter and criticism that followed were piercing, yet they didn&#8217;t deter me.<\/p>\n<p>Years later, the harsh words of judgment echoed again when I overheard the crushing opinions of those deciding the lead role in a church musical. Their laughter and dismissive words about my singing shattered my spirit. From that moment, I silenced my voice, burying it under layers of shame and fear.<\/p>\n<p>Now, in my 40s, the tides have turned. With <em>Dare To Be You<\/em> as my compass, I am confronting the fear of judgment that once caged my voice. I am ready to share my singing with the world again, untrained but unashamed. My heart may race with the memory of past judgments, but I stand firm, a strong and confident woman, ready to break free from the limiting beliefs of my past.<\/p>\n<p>This is more than just a song; it&#8217;s a declaration of my newfound self-acceptance. I welcome your opinions, for they no longer define me. I am no longer that shy girl, but a woman who sees herself and the world through a lens of strength and confidence.<\/p>\n<p>As you listen to my voice, remember its journey \u2013 from suppression to liberation.
