My venture into establishing a company was met with unexpected resistance when a professional whom I entrusted with setting up my business failed to deliver on their promise. Despite our agreement and my prompt payment, my company register was withheld, leaving me in a precarious position.

Standing My Ground:

After months of silence and ghosting, I was faced with a demand for additional funds — a clear act of blackmail. I stood my ground, not just for myself but for the integrity of my business, ‘Dare To Be You’. I delved into my records and communications, armed with evidence and a clear conscience.

Seeking Justice:

I reached out to ASIC and was advised of my rights and the next steps to protect my company. My proactive approach and the refusal to be intimidated by unfounded threats led to a resolution in my favor, and a lesson in the importance of due diligence and trusting my instincts.

The Lessons Learned:

Maintain Composure: Don’t take aggressive business tactics personally. Stay calm and focused on the solution.

Do Your Homework: Thoroughly research businesses before engaging in transactions. References and reviews are invaluable.

Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, investigate further with legal and government bodies.Stand Firm: Don’t be coerced into additional payments without written proof of obligations.

Know When to Walk Away: If you’re not legally bound to a service or product being withheld, consider blocking the business and moving on.
