Empowering women to go after the career they want and stand against gender inequality in the workplace
Hands up how many women who work in a male-dominated industries and feel you have lost a part of yourself to having to work harder, faster, more efficiently and smarter to get a respected reputation in the industry?
For centuries, women have been treated like they are less than a man in industries because of our agenda. We get paid less, bullied, harassed, discriminated against, and disrespected on those industries, which then makes us want to leave those industries. This is because of the way we have been raised.
We women have been raised to believe that having a family and putting others above all else is the key to success and happiness, that we are the weaker sex and that we can’t handle particular jobs. Because of this, women are no longer the able to connect with themselves, and have the career that they want, thus feeling trapped, lost and frustrated.
I have found that by daring to be myself, going after the career I want and not bowing down to the misconceptions that society for centuries has placed on women, that I have become stronger, fearless and will stand up for who I and what I want in life.
I have been working in a male dominated industry for over 22 years and have built up a powerful reputation in that industry as a problem solver and restorer of multi- million-dollar project that have previously failed. I am in no way a feminist, but gender equality is severely lacking in some industries today.
I have mentored and trained hundreds of women worldwide on how to be stronger, think smarter and be far more efficient in doing the work in this industry.
Many of them have progressed their careers past my level and into upper management roles in these industries.
I am passionate about showing women they can make it in male-dominated industries and that they do not have to put up with being treated unfairly because of gender, that we are not weak, we are at an advantage with the extra qualities we have; we are a force to be reckoned with in those industries.
That we have the potential, are capable and have what it takes to do the job and rise above the gender bias and discrimination within those industries.
Today, more than ever, we need to set new standards and trends within those industries so that there is real equal opportunity, stand up for ourselves and progress our careers past the boundaries of the societal perceptions placed on women.
Women, I invite you now to go after the career you want, Dare To Be You and succeed in your careers. Let the journey empower you and your decisions, stand tall and firm in the way you want to be treated in the workplace.©
