It is certainly turbulent times right now with people in regard to business and personally.
Some countries are open, some are closed, and some are partially open. All are locked down to a certain extent.
The COVID-19 virus has thrown billions of lives and business out of whack. Some people are making it bad for others as they think It is all a hoax and are not abiding by with the government in their cities and countries are telling them to do making it more and riskier for others how are good citizens are doing the right thing. They aren’t social distancing or wearing masks and are having parties and photo shoots in public places like the botanical gardens.
This virus is now community spread and it may not have become community spread if people weren’t so reckless. I, for one, is not someone who likes conformity, but if it is for my health and wellbeing, I will do whatever it takes to be healthy and safe.
The world can be a dangerous place and at times we really to do need to abide by the rules so that we can stay safe and healthy. If we don’t have our holistic health, what do we have as we will be plagued with fear, limiting beliefs and thoughts that manifest in to physical and mental health problems if we don’t look after ourselves psychologically, mentally and emotionally.
Some of the types of illnesses and conditions that can manifest if we do not look after ourselves psychologically, mentally, and emotionally are things such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- High stress levels
- High and low blood pressure
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Bipolar
- Schizophrenia
- Paranoia
- Cancer
- Anorexia
- Bulimia
- Eating for comfort
- Low self-esteem
- Low self-love
- Low self confidence
- Agoraphobia
- Claustrophobia
It is perfectly normal to have mixed overwhelming emotions given the pandemic we are currently facing. You may experience during the lock down the below types of emotions:
- Sadness
- Anger
- Frustration
- Loneliness
- Uncertainty
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Stress
- No longer knowing who you are
- A lack of self-love
- Boredom
- Feeling out of control
- Claustrophobia
- Grief
And many other emotions. Please know that these emotions will pass in time. Focus on the positives and what you can control, which are your thoughts, actions, reactions, and your emotions.
You can’t control the external like other people and circumstances so it is recommended that you focus on the positives, practice gratitude, meditate, exercise, eat healthy, being there and staying in contact with your loved ones, personal and professional development and if you are working then your job, if not then focus your energy on getting another job (remember though a rejection for a job is not the employers rejecting you personally but purely that the job was the right fit for you and that there is a more suitable job around the corner for you). Don’t feel bad if you get a rejection for a job as millions of people at the moment are in the same boat. Stay positive, get feedback and improve on your application skills and your employability with courses etc…. It is a time for reflection, adaption, and change. A better job is out there for you.
With regard to COVID-19 – Don’t you think we owe it to ourselves and the surrounding people to do what is best for your health and the health of those around us. Come on, people, let’s all pull together and do the right thing and get this virus under control by wearing masks, social distancing, upping our own levels of personal hygiene. Don’t you think we owe this to our children and the generations after them to keep things safe.
If you have been diagnosed with a mental illness, please continue to consult a mental health specialist. If you have limiting beliefs to replace or fears to overcome, then coaches can help with this. Let’s all just do the right thing and keep things safe for everyone.
We can do this! We’ve got this! Let’s make this work! ©
